Canyon Crest country club is part of Clubcorp so I was able to play 9 holes there and got a 52 on the front 9. The day has a few good shots and a lot of very curvy greens. It was also a chance to watch my first putting contest. I had no idea what was going on when I saw the balls on tees and strings making paths on the putting green. The idea is that if you hit a tee and a ball falls down that you lose a point, but you gain a point if you hit around the tees and keep it in bounds (and you try to get the ball in the hole).

Random stat: I got a beautiful par on the first hole of par 4 with a drive that was so good that I got compliments on it from people practicing on the putting green next to me followed by a hybrid shot right before a ditch and a 56 wedge onto the green with a solid put.
