I started the day with 3 hours of golf with Amber at the Butch Harmon School, where Nick Helwig went over short game drills and games to play. We started with short chipping with a sand-wedge. Then, we went to longer chipping with the use of wrist. Afterwards, we played a game where we aimed 2 balls at the pitching green and the ball that got closest received 2 points, the second place was 1 point, and a ball in the hole was 5 points. The one gained 11 points first would win. Also, whoever got closest to the hole chose where to pitch from and which hole to aim at. Next, we played a final pitching game where we have 3 ranges to shoot into where we had 4 sticks laid out, and you had to shoot in the closest then the next furthest and most furthest consequetively; however, you then had to hit it in the closest one on first bounce twice, then the next and then next, but you would not have to regress once you get to the stage of going for 2x in a row. Thus, the best score you could get on this final pitching game was a 9. Afterwards, we played a game to aim balls on the putting green of 3 different distances into a circle, which prepared us for the final game on the putting green. We had 5 different distances of golf tees of 5 feet further away from the hole. The goal was to hit passed the hole but not 5 feet behind it where a pole lay. If you do this successfully 3x in a row, then you get to move to the next further tee to put from. Typically, if you fail then you must go the closer tee, but if you succeed then you go to the further tee. We did it so that you could just progress and not regress, but this is a PGA Tour pro exercise that I was told took someone a full day to complete and then 3 hours and then eventually 15 minutes before he became a tournament champion. 9,777 remain. Our final game was to have me and Amber each put from a hole towards each others’ holes and if we got a ball in the hole then we would get a point and switch, but the first to 5 holes would win. It was a fun game similar to the game I played at the last school where we aimed at different holes and you tried to hit it in the hole of your choice for 9 holes and the leader was the one that hit it in the hole last until the final hole where the leader was the winner. Random stat: I got a score of 30 on the first time on the game and 20 on the second time on the game (but I should do better because sometimes my skulled shots counted, but it would not be a playable shot so I should focus on only playable shots using this game in the future).
