I made a last minute decision to go to Bear’s Best today and I played from 2pm-7pm and got matched with a couple of guys from Atlanta. It was a very perfect day for golf to relax from business and personal travel from last weekend. I played very good overall because my ball was flying very nicely on most shots and I drove pretty well on a lot of shots as well. My putting was off because it was very fast greens and I did not have time to warm-up. On the other hand, even though I only got par once, I got a lot of bogies and double bogies.
One thing I want to also point out is that I was entering my scores from the last week into GHIN today and when I attempted to enter my score for Thanksgiving Point, I was provided an error message saying:
“Score cannot be posted: Scores cannot be posted on a course observing the offseason.”
I also noticed that at the top of the screen was:
“Scores made at any golf course observing an inactive season are not acceptable for handicap purposes.”
I found this to be very strange that the score from this course is an option in GHIN, but doesn’t count toward handicap. This doesn’t make any logical sense unless there is a nonsensical reason why the score doesn’t count. Does the course’s score not count because it didn’t pay dues to a governing body? I wonder why it would count sometimes and not be considered an active season at another time. The course was in great condition with beautiful views of the mountains and well-maintained.
Also, after posting my recent score today, I noticed my GHIN trend appears to be going down towards 23.6.
9,591 remain.
Random stat: This was my third time breaking 100 on a 18 hole golf course and I got a 97 while my 2 comrades today scored 96 and 95; therefore, I was matched up well with guys that have played golf for many years even though they are not regular players.
