I went to the Aroma Golf Academy at the AGA (Aroma Golf Range) in Korea Town. It's located in a sky-scraper. It was a good time to get some critiques on my swing. I was told that I was holding the club a bit too strong and lifting my head when chipping. My instructors Sang made me do an exercise where I pushed out my butt while doing the down-swing so that the weight transferred better on my left foot to keep my left heel down so I didn't end up on my left toe afterwards. He also video recorded my swing and broke it down with arrows to show how I was moving my body similar to what was done at Butch Harmon School. It was a pretty cool deal for $12 for balls and $65 for a quick 30min lesson Continue Reading …
December 4-5, 2016
On December 4, I played 9 holes at Brae Mar at the US Open Course, which is the final of the 3 courses that I had yet to play. The weather was perfect in the 70s. I played with Gunjan, Greg, and Arin. We also spent a lot of time on the range because there was a tournament and we couldn't play 18 holes. On December 5, I went to the Links at Terranea Resort for a par 3-only executive course of 9 holes on the ocean in Palos Verdes. It was a great ambiance and fun playing with Ryan and Eric. 9,460 Remain Random stat: I got a lot of bogies on the Links at Terranea. Continue Reading …
December 1-3, 2016
On December 1, I caught a flight to Los Angeles after doctors appointments and then went to meetings and hungout with friends. On December 2, I woke up around 6am and hit the range with Gunjan at the Rancho Park for an hour. Spent most of the day doing business. On December, I did an early round of golf at Porter Valley Country Club with Gunjan and Greg, who is interested in returning to Vegas to do sales. We did the first 9 with Greg/Gunjan keeping score and the second half (back 9) as a best ball play. 9,466 remain Random stat: I got a birdie on the 14th hole at Porter Valley, which is the same hole I met Greg at about a year ago. November 29-30, 2016
I took off November 29 because I got sick and I did a doctors checkup and blood work. On November 30, I spent 4 hours playing at Las Vegas Country Club. Completed 18 holes solo. I experimented with my woods today, but I'm still a bit rusty. I've also found it useful to use a 5 iron for low shots under tree branches. The LVCC has 2 restaurants, one for guests and one for members. I found this interesting as I have never seen this before. 9,471 Remain Random stat: I was able to get a par today. Continue Reading …
November 28, 2016
Played a round of 9 holes with Vess at Canyon Gate Country Club on the back 9 with an early morning round at 10am after breakfast at Lakes Lounge. We practiced a bit beforehand on the range and putting green. 9,475 Remain Random stat: This is my first day where I didn't lose a single ball and also the first day where I didn't lose a single tee (nor did I break any tees) Continue Reading …
November 20-27, 2016
I played Paiute with Dongki and his business partner Ken (and also invited my intern Phil) for a foursome at Paiute, which was an epic course with beautiful ambiance in the desert. Also, Adam Farfan played a round with me and my interns Phil and Artem for a round of best ball. I went to CGCC to practice for a couple hours before the round with Dongki and also went a second time, but they were closed so I went home and practiced my swing while looking in the mirror and also hit some plastic balls. In addition, I played another very beautiful course, Dragon Ridge, with Luis and his friend John. It was super cold and windy so we ended early at hole 15, but it was a lot of fun. 9,477 Continue Reading …
November 4-19, 2016
I played 9 holes with my interns at CGCC, spent an hour with Drew at Top Golf, played 9 holes at CGCC with Mark, practiced on the range with Brent, and spent a couple hours at CGCC practicing on the range, chipping green, and putting green. 9,494 Remain Random Stat: I practiced hitting the golf ball around the putting green to every hole and was able to go from one hole to the next and 2 put every hole until I did all 9 holes. Continue Reading …
October 28-November 3, 2016
I went to CGCC 3 ties. Twice I went just to practices putting and chipping for an hour. The third time I played a round of golf for 9 holes with Amber. 9,504 remain Random stat: Amber and I are quite a bit rusty hitting about 10% more strokes than normal for taking so much time off, but I'm sure it will come back to us and we'll improve again. Continue Reading …
September 19-October 27, 2016
I spent an hour at Top Golf with both my side of the family (my parents in Las Vegas) and my wife's side of the family (in Salt Lake City) and it was a lot of fun, kind of like bowling, but with golf clubs. In addition, I went to Canyon Gate Country Club and played 9 holes with my intern Artem and also 9 hole with my friend Todd from Arizona. I also got to play 18 holes with Bill Walsh and a couple of his friends at Bear's Best. I'd play more, but a few of the days I arrived at CGCC, it was closed due to tournament or they closed early due to rain. 9,508 remain. Random stat: During my recent last couple posts, I didn't really share much stats because I haven't been playing as Continue Reading …
June 18-September 18, 2016
I practiced for a few hours at Canyon Gate Country Club this summer, but it was very hot so I didn't play too much. Would have played more at CGCC, but it was closed in September for re-seeding. I did get to play 9 holes with Amber in Mesquite at Falcon Ridge and also 9 holes with Mikhail at Bear's Best in Las Vegas. 9,520 remain. Continue Reading …
