I went to Top Golf to play for a couple hours with my friends in Las Vegas. I went to Hawaii with a group of friends in Honolulu and I played golf throughout the week. First, I did a round of 18 holes at Turtle Bay. Beautiful course where I got matched up with Joey, and others in the foursome were Suri and Jon. We played at the Palmer Course. Then, I did a round of 18 holes at the ClubCorp property at Hawaii Prince Golf Club, where I got matched with Jon, and others in the foursome were Suri and Dongki. Third, I did a round of 18 holes with Dongki at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club. I went to the home of my friend, Rick, and he has an amazing golf simulator that I was able to use to practice with my friends, Shawn, Rick, Andrew, and Brent. Also, Amber and I flew to Seattle to attend a workshop, and we ended up discovering Golf at Newcastle, which is the most amazing public country club and golf course. It overlooks a beautiful view of the city and even had a roaming bagpipe player when we made it to the 18th hole at sun down celebrating a wedding and tournament. There is 36 holes of championship golf, and we played 18 holes at the China course on Friday, July 21, and then the Coal course on Saturday, July 22. The weather was super awesome. During a trip to Salt Lake City to visit family, I played a round of golf with Amber, Kim, and Norma for a foursome on the front 9 on July 4 at a golf course near their home that I've played at in the past called Riverbend. On the next day, Amber and I played the front 9 at Jeremy Ranch in Park City, which was a beautiful course that we finished playing right before it started to rain.. 9,375 Remain Random stat: I got a par on one hole and bogies on several others; for my par, I did a put off the rough over 10 feet away into the hole.  Continue Reading …

I spent a couple weeks doing an internship on the Sony Pictures campus and while I was in Los Angeles, I was able to play one round of golf of 9 holes at a par 3 course at the Marriott in Manhattan Beach. The head pro at the course was very nice and he comp'ed my rental clubs since I had stayed at the hotel for a night. He also comp'ed my parking. 9,380 Remain Random stat: I still do pretty bad with rental club sets and my average shot was not very strong and I primarily used my hybrid to get the distance that I wanted; however, I was able to use the 5 wood 3x with good distance and accuracy.  Continue Reading …

The summer heat has restarted in Las Vegas so that slowed down my gameplay. In addition, I went to NYC for the Tony Awards and networking for a week. I did manage to play a round with my friend Jason at the Trump Golf Links. We played with a father/son in a foursome and they were celebrating the son's birthday. It was awesome weather, but Jason had business so we quit at 13 and my score after 13 was 51 on the front and 23 on the following 4 holes, which is 5.7 per hole. I played a round of golf with Adam Farfan at Spanish Trail Country Club today. The weather was expected to be in the 90's, but it felt cooler due to a lot of clouds blocking the sun the entire day even though we started at 12:30pm. We played 2 of the 3 courses: Sunrise and Canyon. 9,385 Remain Random stat: I used my 3 wood a half dozen times and was able to consistently hit 200 yards and also I was able to get par on 3 of the holes with an adjusted score of 95 after playing 13 of the 18 holes.  Continue Reading …

On May 26, Amber and I played the front 9 at Canyon Gate, but we only played 3 holes and then played on the range and practiced on the putting green for an hour due to a tight schedule. On May 27, I organized a full day of custom golf training for my friends at the Butch Harmon School with Don Callaway and Nick Helwig as instructors for 10 of us: Joey, Luis, Jason, Mark, Kim, John, Joe, Caleb, Suri, and myself. Brent showed up as an observer. We went through every aspect of the game from short game, long game, bunkers, and putting. I also spent time again in the video bay analyzying my swing. On May 24, Amber and I played the front 9 at Canyon Gate Country Club, and we played the back 9 on the next day. Using a pro-ration since some of the holes were closed due to maintenance and also the greens were being worked on so the flag was moved up, I got 94 and Amber got 108. 9,401 Remain Random stat: I got a birdie on a par 5, but I almost got an eagle, but the flag was moved up way closer than normal.  Continue Reading …

I did a lot of traveling recently. En route to India via Turkish Airlines, I stopped in Istanbul and went to the business class lounge. Inside of the lounge, there was a golf range that I played with briefly with my 8-iron. When I got to Delhi, I did a tour of the city and stopped by for lunch at the Taj Palace Hotel and played a 9-hole mini-golf course. It was an outdoor course behind the restaurant I ate lunch at. Originally, I was going to play golf at a local country club, but it was way too hot. After a trip to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal, I caught a flight from Delhi to Prague, where I did 18 holes of indoor min-golf in a glow in the dark fun course.
