This is a super long post covering the most amount of time I've put down for one post so I hope to get back on schedule in the future to avoid this as it will miss too many details. I've been coming to Canyon Gate Country each month and been playing various rounds, such as a round with a long-drive competition pro-player, staff rounds (with Drew), family rounds (with my cousin), and friend rounds (ie Mark). I got sick for a lot of this time, but I did do some putting at Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club before racecar class and some short game with chipping at the Moon Palace Golf Club in Cancun, Mexico. 9,433 Remain Random stat: My chipping over a sand-trap was a big challenge for me and I'm not sure if it was the sand-wedge I was using, but my ball was flying very low and a bit too far for most of my hits.  Continue Reading …

Today, I played 18 holes with Jack at Sienna Golf Club. We got matched up with a 4-some and the gameplay was very slow; however, it was fun. I started using my 3-wood in play after a par-3 that I hit it very solidly and most of my 3-wood hits were very strong, but a few were hit on the top of the ball. It was cool playing at another new course. Today, I played at the Red Rock Country Club's Arroyo Golf Club course. It was a very nice day for winter-time with weather at almost 60 degrees fahrenheit. The course was pretty confusing and I had to ask for directions from the pro shop multiple times and still got lost on finding holes. The ambiance was nice though with the beautiful Red Rock mountains in the backdrop and you could also see the Red Rock Resort in the background. I played at the Arroyo course, but I warmed up on the golf range at both sides of the private and public course golf ranges. I took off most of the last week for the holiday celebrations. On December 27, I went to Canyon Gate to play 9 holes on the back 9. I met another member named Jack, who owns a bachelor party agency in Vegas. We met near the bag drop and I invited him to join me. From December 15-20, I was recovering from a mild cold. However, on December 20, I went out to Top Golf Las Vegas with Drew and Daven and played for a couple hours over steak platters and smoothies in the VIP Cabanas. I did practice with every club and found it to be very good. My accuracy aiming at targets improved much since last time. I arrived an hour before my friends so I could just practice my swing and I found that I was consistent with all clubs, but accuracy was off for my 3-wood and drive 50% of the time. 9,444 Remain Random stat: I was able to drive the ball straight over the 200 yard boundary at the end of the Top Golf playing field and I noticed that I was able to score  Continue Reading …

On December 10, I played the front 9 holes at Tustin Ranch Golf Club and was matched with a very nice couple. The husband was a social media manager for a local athletics team and I exchanged a Kho logo ball for his to add to my collection on my wall. For December 11-14, I was in meetings for business and also flew back to Las Vegas so I didn't have time to play golf. 9,446 Remain Random stat: I was overall very tired from a lack of sleep of working on golf every morning while trying to also do meetings so my play was very poor and lacked aim and distance; this is a good reminder to get a good night of sleep and also possibly hit the gym as I have some lower back pain while I sleep.  Continue Reading …

Canyon Crest country club is part of Clubcorp so I was able to play 9 holes there and got a 52 on the front 9. The day has a few good shots and a lot of very curvy greens. It was also a chance to watch my first putting contest. I had no idea what was going on when I saw the balls on tees and strings making paths on the putting green. The idea is that if you hit a tee and a ball falls down that you lose a point, but you gain a point if you hit around the tees and keep it in bounds (and you try to get the ball in the hole). 9,449 Remain Random stat: I got a beautiful par on the first hole of par 4 with a drive that was so good that I got compliments on it from people practicing on the  Continue Reading …

I played morning golf at the Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach for a perfect day. The shop matched me up with a nice couple from Colorado. 9,451 Remain Random stat: I did a 225 yard drive on the 4th hole and a 270 yard drive on the 10th hole that resulted in a birdie. I woke up in the early morning to grab breakfast and play at the Aliso Viejo Country Club, which is located near the home of my friend Torin who lives in OC. So I played the first round of the day and got paired with a couple of former Air Force officers. It was a fun round and a beautiful course. Afterwards, I grabbed lunch with Torin and met up with Drew and Roger for voice training, and then work with Owen at the mansion. 9,455 Remain Random stat: I got par on hole 16 and scored a 99 from the white tees.  Continue Reading …
